Building Resilience

Providing Assistance and awareness for real world training that saves lives

Building life skills and resilience is a major component of a comprehensive approach to suicide prevention. And it’s something that takes a team of people. In a study focused on coping strategies for mental health and preventing self-harm or suicidal ideation, college students identified skills training, support from friends, and building self-esteem as the most beneficial.

How Brotherwood Helps

One of Brotherwood's goals is to create awareness and guidance for suicide risk assessment training by working with universities and student organizations to develop workshops and training opportunities on campuses. This can include anything from coping and life skills, to QPR training for faculty and staff. The more we hang out, learn new skills, and maybe have a cup of coffee, the more we learn about our friends, our students, our point guard, and, more importantly, ourselves.
